Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases such as eth titans aren't affected in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it, and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they are "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will enable the item upgrades to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the type of item it is. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will have only two affixes for it, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item level upgrade fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However it has a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a building, engineers will use an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point, like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to the highest degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial element of the game, and it can increase the strength, damage or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be used in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item upgrade.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This can be either good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item upgrader can have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also features several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on the same unit. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. This is because rerolling can give players a faster path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain none at all, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or sorting information. They are also useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Certain set items are upgraded for their own special functions which can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the screen of their character. It will show the item's characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons have higher value when they are updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
